Motherhood

When I was pregnant with Sofia, I wasn’t really expecting that I would be successful with breastfeeding. I didn’t really want to breastfeed and I thought I would just try it because it’s free 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now Sofia is 7 months old. She’s still exclusively breastfed, and we both love it 🥰 it was hard at first. It was messy, frustrating, and exhausting. But we didn’t give up, and I’m so glad because we have a bond that I will cherish forever😍

Tips for new breastfeeding moms: breastfeeding is hard at first. It gets easier! I hated it so much at first. It’s okay to not enjoy it. It’s okay to decide you don’t want to do it anymore. Just know it gets easier, and you will grow to love it.

WHAT TO PACK IN DIAPER BAG GUIDE

One of the many hard things of being a new mom is learning how to not overpack your diaper bag (or under-pack). I’m going to share my tips to hopefully help some moms out there who need a little bit of guidance!

Diapers + Wipes

This one is obvious. Never leave the house without diapers and wipes! Even if you’re only going to be gone for a few minutes. You never know when your baby will decide to go, and you don’t want to have to make them sit in a poopy diaper because you forgot to pack extra diapers! I always pack about 3-5 diapers and 1 pack of wipes. Of course more if we will be gone overnight.

Changing Pad

A changing pad always comes in handy. A lot of diaper bags come with one and it takes up very little space.

Water + Snacks

I always pack my daughters sippy cup and a water for myself. It’s important to stay hydrated! Toddlers eat all the time so I always make sure I pack some sort of snack. The fruit pouches are always a good choice or even just a ziplock bag with some goldfish or cereal! If your little one is still on the younger side and you’re formula feeding, make sure to bring bottles and formula! I would always put the scoops of formula in the bottle and stick it in the bag just like that. When you need it all you need to do is fill it with water.

Extra Outfit

Babies and toddlers are messy! Things happen. It’s always a good idea to pack an extra change of clothes just in case.

Hair Brush + Hair Ties

Girl moms know that hair ties are super important to have around! I always keep a hair brush and hair ties in my diaper bag because my girl has some crazy hair sometimes. If in a hurry getting out of the house and I forget to put her hair up, it’s no problem because we have extras in the diaper bag!

Baby / Toddler Extras

A pacifier (if your baby uses them), teether, and a burp cloth are a few things that should be kept in your bag. For my toddler we usually bring a little toy she likes so she won’t get bored in her car seat. It’s also a good idea to have some baby sunscreen.

Personal Items

I like to put my wallet, phone and keys in the diaper bag. It’s easier than carrying another separate bag around!
